Stump Grind It
- a family business
Meet the Team Behind Stump Grind It
My family has been involved in the tree industry for over 25 years. As a kid, I’d spend my school holidays helping out in the family business — squeezing it in between football commitments and studying to become a primary school teacher.
I went on to teach in Queensland and Victoria for 15 years, but eventually, I was ready for a change of pace and a return to working outdoors. That’s when I moved back to Queensland and started Stump Grind It from the ground up.
What began as a one-man stump grinding operation has grown into a full-service tree business — and it’s been incredibly rewarding. I love delivering high-quality work, building great relationships with our clients, and seeing the difference we make in their properties. There’s nothing better than a happy customer and some kind words — and with almost 500 five-star reviews on Google and Facebook, I’m proud of the reputation we’ve earned.
When I launched the business, my boys were 12, 14, and 16. One of my biggest motivations was to spend more time with them and set an example of strong values and a solid work ethic. Fast forward to today — my boys are now 16, 19, and 20. The two older boys are Apprentice Arborists, and my youngest maintains and cleans all our equipment while finishing high school and studying to become a diesel mechanic.
It’s truly become a family-run business — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
